Waller, in the Q&A, frames the September decision as a risk mgmt one. If disinflation is starting to happen, Waller says the Fed doesn't want to hike into that. "What's the cost of waiting one meeting? Hiking 25bps one meeting right now is not going to bring the CPI down to 2%."
