India shipped a model with a sixth of DeepSeek R1's parameters, and it holds its own. Parameter count was always the vanity metric. Meanwhile most of us are renting our entire AI stack from one vendor with zero fallback plan. Comment 'sovereign' for the sovereignty audit.
