@semafor @maxwelltani 'Viral'? OK boomer Viral died in 2011 when social media replaced your friends with the algorithm feed. There is no lateral ‘contagion’ anymore. The central algorithm decides what is shown now. You're confusing everything made algorithmically popular with 'viral' ever since.
