One interesting linguistic quirk I've noticed in English that I'm sure it's legacy of what both Greek and Roman cultures left in great Britain is that we refer to "Greek" Gods, i.e. Zeus etc, but for the actual physical planets we refer to them by their Roman names (Jupiter)
