I think this is true in most countries, but people want to work with someone they know and can put a face to. I think it's fine to have an interpreter, but you end up losing some of that friendliness you could have with your editor which is why I did my best to learn Japanese.

One of the main reasons I was able to break into the manga industry is because of my personal relationships with editors. I meet them to talk about the manga development and have other small talk. If I didn't move to Japan, I wouldn't have the opportunities I do now.

I draw my manga by flicking strokes from bottom to the top. This may be an unusual method, but just like how some people are left handed, I think there are a lot of people who feel more comfortable drawing in this way. What do you think?
