One of my dear friends passed away yesterday. He always encouraged me to chase my dreams wherever they took me. I'll always remember him and will work hard to make those dreams he believed in come true.

@KeikoKup Hopefully, visiting in person without living there will be better than nothing, in my case 😅

And my Japanese isn't perfect by any means! But it's good enough to have a friendly conversation with others and explain my ideas which is vital.

I think this is true in most countries, but people want to work with someone they know and can put a face to. I think it's fine to have an interpreter, but you end up losing some of that friendliness you could have with your editor which is why I did my best to learn Japanese.

One of the main reasons I was able to break into the manga industry is because of my personal relationships with editors. I meet them to talk about the manga development and have other small talk. If I didn't move to Japan, I wouldn't have the opportunities I do now.

I draw my manga by flicking strokes from bottom to the top. This may be an unusual method, but just like how some people are left handed, I think there are a lot of people who feel more comfortable drawing in this way. What do you think?

"The way you draw manga is wrong!"
I've received quite a few messages/comments from people saying the way I draw manga is incorrect. This is mainly because of how I use my pen: while for dip pens you're supposed to draw strokes from top to bottom, https://t.co/X3Zh07f1HP

I am thankful to my family, friends, and everyone here who has supported me. And of course I am thankful to my editor in charge at Kodansha who believed in me enough to take me on under her care and even help with fixing my Japanese on some parts of my manga💦 https://t.co/B8o0hhB
