@snyksec @ezratanzer This is the cleanest way I have seen anyone say it. An instruction changes what the agent tries. It does not decide what it is allowed to do. I keep coming back to the same split. Capability is not authority. One lives in the prompt. The other has to live o 5 views · 0 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

Anthropic's own threat intelligence report, published last week, describes an attacker whose malware got caught by security tools — then had it rewritten and redeployed by its own AI agents until it evaded detection again. In hours, not weeks. AI has changed the attack https://t

@snyksec @ezratanzer That’s the key distinction: instructions shape generation, but enforcement has to happen outside the model. I’d make the four controls independently observable—pre-commit checks, sandboxed execution, dependency policy, and runtime monitoring—so one green ligh 3 views · 0 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

Ask an agent to "write secure code" and it will try. But an instruction isn't a constraint. It shifts what gets written, it doesn't decide it 🔏 Read @EzraTanzer's piece on why prevention for agent-generated code isn't one control. It's four, and each one only works at a https://

Most security programs weren't built for an attacker that moves at machine speed, and next week is when that gap gets put on the table. Next week, @TheRegister's James Hayes talks with Snyk's Manoj Nair and @AnthropicAI's Alon Krifcher about the gap most security programs https
