The league has been a glorified ponzi scheme. The only way it makes money is by suckering billionaires into expansion fees.

@wyshynski Worked a graveyard shift at ESPN for a year. During NHL playoffs I would see Barry in the cafeteria between periods (usually OT) of west coast games. He always chatted with me and we’d exchange our picks for the game winner. RIP BM

@wyshynski @Avalanche Avs are winners AND losers. No way he was walking but most of their important players have left 💰 on the table. Makar was under no obligation, but he did screw them for a few years until the cap goes up. Also, CAR dismantles the argument you need superstars
