@wyshynski The NHL doesn't need a 33rd team and it certainly doesn't need a 3rd crack at Atlanta and 2nd in Phoenix.
The league has been a glorified ponzi scheme. The only way it makes money is by suckering billionaires into expansion fees.

@wyshynski Worked a graveyard shift at ESPN for a year. During NHL playoffs I would see Barry in the cafeteria between periods (usually OT) of west coast games. He always chatted with me and we’d exchange our picks for the game winner. RIP BM

@wyshynski Dallas Stars are appreciated in North Carolina…they took a malcontent player, and sent us back a young go getter, team first player, which is the exact type of player we needed to win the Cup…Dallas how ya feeling?

@wyshynski Bingo. We won because when we couldn't manage to get a superstar, we were able to stack enough talent everywhere else in the lineup that other teams couldn't compete against it.
That + RBA evenly distributing ice time helped take advantage of that. You just need enou

@wyshynski How about this? CAR did have superstars who weren’t/aren’t perceived as such by national media.

How about this: CAR chased superstars for two years and then won the Cup because of stars.

@wyshynski @Avalanche Avs are winners AND losers. No way he was walking but most of their important players have left 💰 on the table. Makar was under no obligation, but he did screw them for a few years until the cap goes up. Also, CAR dismantles the argument you need superstars

And immediately becomes the best No. 77 in franchise history.
Every player should go to Hockey Reference and find an unused number. Or, failing that, a number associated with a terrible, easily surpassed player. #Legacy
