@davidasinclair Most spring has additives. It’s very hard to find clean aspirin unless you move to willow bark. They all seem to include cancerous additives. Any idea why?

@davidasinclair There are RCTs showing reduced cognitive performance on statins. RCTs! - not observational studies (what you're pointing to here). There are also specific case reports such as these two: https://t.co/4Z4eohCEWf https://t.co/5FerPXU9tj along with a review of 60 cas

@davidasinclair You know, David, I like you
I think you have good intentions and do good work.
But this post shows clearly where your blind spots are
1. This shows spikes and blood sugar to dementia. Everyone in the functional medicine community knows this. In fact, you kno

@davidasinclair I heard there are reports of massive fraud in Japan. The elder dies and the family continues to report them alive to collect pension money.
Not saying there are not many over 100 yrs old.

@davidasinclair Great, we can live longer to work until 85 before retirement, IF retirement even is a thing then.
Having a healthspan closer to lifespan should be the goal, not just extending the latter.

@davidasinclair What about papers that don't replicate? Are there people who self-cite those, too? Or keep talking about the results as if they're rock-solid facts, without explaining to anyone what's going on?

@davidasinclair Wish I was better at biochem. I'd enjoy working with you. I'm 70, retired, trying to learn FreeCAD. A little propulsion system "I did" design back in the 1970's. 50 years of finessing it in my head, pretty sure it might net me an asteroid if I live long enough.

Longevity medicines might have been available to the world around 2015, if it weren't for a flawed study by a large pharma company that derailed a field & halted trials
15 years later, the lifespan-extending molecules continue to show promise, in this case for kidney disease 🧵 h

New paper reports that NAD-dependent SIRT1 suppresses retrotransposon RNA, a putative way to slow aging
Cool, but Philipp Oberdoerffer in my lab published this in Cell in 2008 and the authors don’t even mention his work. Uncool
