Meet the bookstore owner who won’t sell a book until he reads it — and the author has signed it. Ann Patchett is a fan. Rick Bragg is a fan. Meet Jake Reiss of Alabama Booksmith. My story for @gardenandgun: https://t.co/qwirasTJq5 10K views · 27 likes · 6 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

Please join me at the Vero Beach Book Center on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 5 pm for a discussion/signing of American Coach. I look forward to seeing the ND Club of Vero Beach and cofb fans like me who are headed to Miami. https://t.co/z2VJ0fNInb 12.6K views · 21 likes · 3 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →

@Ivan_Maisel @HammesNotreDame @NotreDame Where does this rank on your book signing list? Number 6, where you ranked Notre Dame in 1993? Maybe if your brother donated to Notre Dame instead of Alabama, you would’ve voted for Notre Dame to make the playoffs this year instead of AL 74 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

@Ivan_Maisel @HammesNotreDame @NotreDame You signed book for me during Navy weekend and it is a great read. Obviously a lot of work and research went into it. I like your sense of humor. Sorry you got drawn in with that sorry lot called a CFP committee but aware you recused yo 281 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

Postscript: my appearance Friday at @HammesNotreDame Bookstore to sign copies of American Coach couldn’t have gone better. Everyone welcomed me, we had good discussions, and I sold more books than I did my previous trip. That’s the true @NotreDame I know. Thanks to everyone. 126.4K views · 1.7K likes · 109 reposts · 66 replies Open on X →

@Ivan_Maisel Ivan - you recused yourself over a book blurb but Mike Riley, WHO PLAYED COLLEGE FOOTBALL AT ALABAMA, did not? How do you explain that? 3.5K views · 87 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

@Ivan_Maisel @Matt_Fortuna Did you stand by when the committee voted to keep Alabama at the same spot after losing by 21 points to Georges knowing the impact it would have on Notre Dame 3.4K views · 94 likes · 0 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →

@Ivan_Maisel Did Yurachek, who is AR’s AD and by having AL make the field stood to financially benefit, recuse himself from anything? 10.3K views · 174 likes · 3 reposts · 9 replies Open on X →

I stand by the committee and the work we did. I stood by as the committee decided on Notre Dame. Because HC Marcus Freeman wrote a blurb for my book American Coach, I was recused from discussing/voting on the Irish. I offered the recusal in August and the CFP accepted it.
