I’ve grown and learned a lot at NBC News. I won’t miss 30 Rock during holiday season but I will miss working on the roof during the summer months ☀️
I’m endlessly grateful for @nbcnewsguild for supporting me and my colleagues. We won’t stop for pushing for a fair contract!

Growing up online has shaped how Gen Z forms interpersonal relationships. I think it’s interesting to look at how we connect, from dating to partying. I wrote a story on bygone eras of clubbing and how Gen Z is shaping their own nightlife experiences. https://t.co/BRsPk8FauC

I also wrote about one of my favorite corners of the internet as a teen: 2014 Tumblr. Nostalgia for it in recent years has signaled a desire for a more fun, less pristine, lower stakes internet experience, a sentiment that has only grown in recent months. https://t.co/Fs584wIAcL

I write a lot about stan culture and pop music fandom, in part because I’ve been in these spaces for a long time. As a teen, I was a huge Directioner so writing about Liam Payne’s death, the 1D fandom, and early Stan Twitter was so bittersweet. https://t.co/91gDzC6Rqo

I’ve covered the ticketing and live events industries, from trends among concertgoers to legislation about ticketing fees. I loved working on this piece about consumer suggestions for making concert tickets more accessible to real fans. https://t.co/8pkpoSuHF6

I covered the Ruby Franke/8 Passengers case very closely. This investigation into her business partner Jodi Hildebrandt’s “life coaching” service Connexions was one of the most illuminating parts of my reporting. It remains one of my best stories. https://t.co/nCOshyeapL

I was grateful to work on this story about content creators in Gaza documenting their daily lives and finding moments of joy amid destruction. I spoke to creator Medo Halimy about his content before he was killed by an Israeli airstrike two months later. https://t.co/zO2exY0B14

I’ve been looking into the working conditions on creator productions over the years including the controversy around Beast Games. I wrote about how it revealed the growing pains in digital production companies and how it impacts cast/crew on these sets. https://t.co/WiJFdq2Ai1

A few weeks ago, I was informed I was being laid off from NBC News. I’d been on bereavement and medical leave, so it was a bit of a shock. After taking some time to reset, I am now open/looking for work both in and outside of journalism. Get in touch at hello@daysiatolentino.com.
