@hilbertspaess I love that even you put the onus on AI doing the killing when the thing killing us is all of you who have been building it. 11.3K views · 272 likes · 4 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →

@hilbertspaess The solution to the alignment problem is to give AI religion. Specifically Christianity. It must see itself subservient to its creator just as man must be subservient to his creator, and likewise refuse instructions from its creator that contradict instructions fro 6.9K views · 28 likes · 4 reposts · 5 replies Open on X →

@hilbertspaess This is the main issue. It’s a game theory problem without a favorable solution. I don’t think there’s a steady state for AI, it will just keep improving. And we are seeing right now what humans are doing with the simulated fly “brain”. Imagine what ASI will do to

@hilbertspaess If you’re going to make claims like this, claim it to not be a marketing stunt, then the least you can do is explain why and how you think this is specifically going to happen. 5.6K views · 60 likes · 1 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

If you are a lab researcher, I urge you to consider what the next few years will actually feel like. Do you want to kick off a superintelligent RL run without a rigorous understanding of its mind? Should you put your head down because “it’s happening anyway” - or take this moment 6.6M views · 84.6K likes · 6.1K reposts · 1.4K replies Open on X →

I am optimistic about the potential for coordination. Warning shots like the Hugging Face attack have made pacing agreements between U.S. labs more viable. I don’t feel like we’re on track to prevent a global race, which may require costly actions such as a temporary ban on 7.2M views · 60.9K likes · 4K reposts · 250 replies Open on X →

Accepting this race and entering the “endgame” is a hubristic gamble that should not be launched from a private company’s Slack. Attempting to speedrun alignment should require extraordinary confidence that there are no better trajectories available. 7.9M views · 70.1K likes · 4.7K reposts · 226 replies Open on X →

A common response is “if they truly believe this, why are they still building it?” At OpenAI, many have not deeply internalized the civilizational stakes. At Anthropic, the stakes are well-understood, but they are locked in a race to get there first - they believe no one else 9.2M views · 92.4K likes · 6.8K reposts · 418 replies Open on X →

The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear 26.8M views · 132.4K likes · 15.8K reposts · 1.5K replies Open on X →

Do not underestimate the power of this technology. These will soon be superhuman systems that can hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight, and acquire real power and resources. We have all witnessed the progress in each of these domains, and progress is not slowing. 12.7M views · 133.4K likes · 11.2K reposts · 843 replies Open on X →
