IIT Bombay, the institute Prof Doolla gave his life to, knew this. And yet it retracted its original statement now corroborated by the CCTV footage, dismissed Prof Doolla from deanship, sent him on indefinite leave, and never once condemned the FIR on him under the SC/ST act. htt

Development and emancipation of one community cannot be at the cost of another community. Discrimination should be terminated, not transferred.
A draconian law and its enforcement on campuses will offer India's finest minds a choice - leave science, or leave the country. https:

Javed Akhtar claims Sholay's temple scene where Lord Shiva and Hinduism were mocked can't be screened in today's India.
Wrong, Javed saab. You can screen it even today, just that in today's India, Hindus will ask you why you never had the guts to mock Allah or Islam similarly. h

The same Congress that back in March and August flagged the zero-MDR UPI model as financially unsustainable and demanded a calibrated and tiered MDR on high-value transactions, is today opposing it.
Here, I expose these hypocrites and separate fact from fiction on the UPI issue:

Dear @Javedakhtarjadu. I'm afraid your response is as boring and overloaded as your similes and metaphors. When countered with facts, you shift the goalpost, bring in the RSS, berate the right wing, take refuge in context, cushion the bigotry, and claim Kafirs were Colonialists

Dear Mr Javed Akhtar. Alhamdulillah. The quote is from Maulana Azad's Calcutta Speech. The speech was published in Khutbat-e-Azad. Here is the link: https://t.co/lFcnall0qF
The Maulana is exhorting the Indian Muslims to unite with Muslims around the world and save the Caliphate.

The SC/ST Act in its present form is a blot on Indian democracy. It has, exactly how the Supreme court had warned before it was overruled, become an instrument of rampant blackmail and extortion, of both the citizens and the State.
Here, I dissect its alarming weaponisation: htt

Garba celebrates the womb - Garbha. Hindus dance around a clay lamp [गर्भ दीप] symbolising the divine womb ensconced in a body.
Muslims, forbidden to worship anyone other than Allah 40:62; 17:22; 12:40; 3:64 are welcome to dance after worshipping Ma Durga [Aditi] and her womb. h

The remark by @ajeetbharti, that Chandrashekhar Azad should first make himself worthy of marrying into Ajeet's family, has been construed as an offence that invokes marriageability and an intent to humiliate.

The Indian courts simply do not get this: that millions of Muslims who pour on to the streets demanding Sar Tan Se Juda are merely following the fundamentals. They are not mad. They are not terrorists. They are not fanatics. They are law-abiding. Their law is Sharia.

Anticipatory bail has just been denied to @ajeetbharti in the case where the FIR against him invoked draconian SC/ST act provisions. Ajeet's remarks were a reaction to provocation involving his sister. He could be jailed for up to 7 years.
I stand with Ajeet. And so should you.

In the last 5 years: 247,000 cases were filed under the SC/ST Act; only 20,210 cases ended in conviction; and as many as 34,300 were closed as false.
The Supreme Court, quick to flag the low conviction rate in UAPA cases, is mysteriously silent when it comes to the SC/ST act.

Tamil Nadu’s debt trajectory should set off alarm bells.
TN’s debt-GSDP ratio is around 27%, well above the 23% sustainable level suggested by the State’s own economic consultant. And it is far above the 20% prudent benchmark recommended by the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget h

Crazy statistical illiteracy. Garg compares this year’s new-series GDP with last year’s old-series GDP! He gets 2.6% nominal. Congress then sells that as 2.6% real growth.
