Between hotel costs, plane, food, avoiding a day pass really doesn’t save you that much money, if the $50 is truly too much, travel may not be the wisest option

Many positions have their volunteers hours worked before or after the con, and if your working during, most cons will be very flexible on when you can get your hours in

Just simply buy a day pass or even better, volunteer some time
Day passes cheaper and still count for the cons registration numbers. You’ll still get full access to the con spaces you want

Accurate attendance numbers help cons more than you might think
In addition to just giving them more capital to compete with rising contract costs, it helps them secure more volunteers and more space for the con when discussing next years plans

Some just don’t utilize con services and are just attending parties and surrounding areas
But others will try to sneak into con amenities like dealers or dances

While I sympathize with trying to stretch your money when traveling, ghosting only hurts us all in the long run
