Here is an overview of drought conditions which began in the fall of 2025 through today. With the exception of June, rainfall deficits continue to accrue due to the lack of appreciable rainfall across AR. Hot temps and little to no rainfall expected in the next 7 days. #arwx htt
If you thought this drought has been ongoing for quite a while, then you would not be wrong. In fact, drought conditions began to develop in the fall of 2025 across Arkansas. With the exception of June, rainfall deficits have continued to accrue throughout the state due to the lack of appreciable rainfall. Drought conditions continue to persist across a large part of Arkansas with 92% of the state seeing moderate drought or worse.

Although parts of northern and western Arkansas saw appreciable rainfall recently, soil moisture values in most of the state are around 50 percent or less with many areas at or below 30%. The exception to this is areas that recently received appreciable rainfall. With little to no substantial rainfall in the forecast and temperatures in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees through early next week, soil moisture and drought conditions will continue to worsen.
