I turned the fly bisexual
Inspired by Kallman et al ('15), I blocked mAL output in a 166,606-neuron fly model and measured responses in 8 candidate P1 male courtship neurons.
In 3 experiments, when cued by other males, baseline P1 spikes rose from 0 to 1–5 after mAL blockade ht

Male-cue responses consistently rose from 0 to 1–5 spikes across three trials after mAL output was blocked.
Female-cue responses rose from 8–11 to 18–20 spikes.
Female preference always dominated... maybe the most accurate description is I made the fly sexually frustrated. htt

Astra or Fable 5.1?
Revenue and adoption are probably the best AI evals right now, but I believe that both are lagging indicators of a much fuzzier and more important measure that we call the vibes, or “the mandate of heaven”.
Xbench tries to measure it https://t.co/gNNeoWJyvY

Xbench: Twitter as an AI Eval
It's been painfully clear over the last few days that the industry has an evals problem.
We joke that x is the real eval, but what if we took that seriously? What if attention is all you need for evals too?

Comment for an invite code and I will send you one ASAP!
We will need to scale this gradually as Shortcut is pretty token-hungry.

Until now, billions of non-technical workers haven't felt what swe/researchers feel when working alongside AI that can do a lot of their work.
It's not just software engineers anymore.
AI will change everything for everyone.

It's early and Shortcut is far from perfect.
Shortcut gets lazy with formatting, struggles with long multi-round conversations, and runs into context limits on large PDFs.
There is a clear path to disrupt Excel, but for now, I'll settle for making @satyanadella dance

We are in the process of benchmarking Shortcut
In the meantime...
I will give you a year free if you can tag me in a video of gemini/copilot/genspark reliably doing anything that shortcut can't on Excel!

Beyond doing your work, it also has near perfect feature parity on Excel.
Directly edit, import, and export files.
That means there is no reason to go back to Excel. It's like going back to VScode after Cursor.
