You know what really helps catch folks like this and put a stop to takeovers? License plate cameras, police drones, a well-funded PD, and strong prosecutors.

If you told me 6 years ago that San Francisco would become one of the best crime-fighting cities in America, I would not have believed you. Incredible.

People always talk a big game about wanting to catch the folks who kidnap and harm children. Good to see this from Attorney General Marty Jackley.

People ask why the Flock network is beneficial across state lines. This is one of many stories that explain why.

@rahul This isn’t going to change our minds about your gay ass cameras. You can keep finding cops who break the rules and they’ll just be replaced by new cops who break the rules. Point being, this is America and we aren’t a surveillance state. Fuck you

@rahul It’s absolutely fascinating that you legitimately think telling us that other companies are worse somehow negates the violations your company commits. Hilarious shit. 😂

You're going to see more stories about Flock catching bad cops misuse the database. We're the only company in the industry with this level of auditing at scale. If the others had this level of auditing, you'd see a lot more stories about cops abusing DMV data, etc.

Journalists keep trying to expose Flock abuse, and keep demonstrating instead that Flock's technology is very good at exposing the people abusing it.
More of this tech in law enforcement, please.

@adam22 People think it's just the anti-cop crowd that opposes progress like this, but it's also this crowd. 30+ courts found that a fixed license plate camera, reading your government issued plate, on a public roadway, is not a violation of the 4th amendment.

@rahul @adam22 possibly getting caught doesn’t stop or lower crime, but selling people on the myth makes you lots of $$$.

There are some folks who genuinely believe that by alerting on this guy's stolen car (on a public road with his government-issued plate) so that the police can pull him over and stop a driveby, we are the bad guys.

One of the most prolific criminals in all of San Francisco tells @adam22 that “crime in San Francisco is over with” because of Flock cameras + drones. He complains that he can’t even do drivebys anymore.
It’s simple: when the risk of getting caught is too high, crime plummets.
