Investors are paying $117 for every $1 Kimi generates annually, while OpenAI and Anthropic are already generating massive revenue and creating real value for investors at much lower multiples.
That’s insane.

OpenAI and Anthropic are worth nearly $2 trillion combined. But compared with the Chinese AI labs, their valuations actually look cheap.
- Kimi is valued at ~$35B on ~$300M ARR (117×)
- DeepSeek is valued at ~$74B on $1B+ ARR (<74×)
- Zhipu is valued at ~$71B on ~$2B ARR (36×)

A CEO who has sold roughly $160M of $VST since 2021…
Example around the highs…

There’s another important piece.
Vistra has been aggressively buying back its own shares.
Shares outstanding are down roughly 30% since 2021.
So you have the CEO buying personally while the company continues repurchasing shares.
That’s a meaningful alignment signal.

Vistra is also expanding its power generation portfolio.
The company is acquiring Cogentrix, adding roughly 5.5 GW of gas generation capacity.
The deal is expected to be accretive to FCF/share beginning in 2027.

The financials are backing up the story.
Q2 adjusted EBITDA came in at $1.77B, up roughly 31% YoY
2026 guidance:
$6.8B–$7.6B EBITDA
$3.9B–$4.7B FCF before growth
This isn’t just an AI narrative.
The company is already generating substantial cash.

And Vistra is positioning itself for even more demand.
The company is the preferred power provider for Helix, an AI infrastructure platform launched with KKR, $NVDA and the Kuwait Investment Authority.
The opportunity is straightforward:
AI needs compute
Compute needs data

Vistra already has major agreements tied to this demand.
AWS signed a 20 year agreement for up to 1.2 GW from Vistra’s Comanche Peak nuclear plant.
$META signed 20 year agreements covering 2.6+ GW across Vistra’s nuclear fleet.
That’s roughly 3.8 GW tied to AWS and $META

Why does the timing matter?
Vistra is positioned around one of the biggest bottlenecks in the AI infrastructure buildout:
POWER.
AI data centers require enormous amounts of reliable, always-on electricity.
As AI compute expands, demand for power is rising with it.

The purchase stands out because of Burke’s history of selling $VST.
Since 2021, he has sold roughly $160M worth of shares.
Some of those sales came when $VST was trading above $200.
Now the stock is down roughly 37% from its 52-week high…
And the CEO is buying.
