First defeat for Jaden Ortega happens on DWCS. He showed a lot of guts in a war with Alvi Dasuyev. First fight to the distance for Dasuyev (10-0). The career pathway for prospects is a grinder but I'd be surprised not to see Ortega in the UFC.

CSAC is considering changes within the rules to penalize eye pokes but changing MMA gloves isn't an answer, said Foster, who suggested and predicted that if the "committee were to change this, and most commissions followed, that in 30 days fighters would keep their hands closed."

If you ask me, CSAC should change the eye poke rules to require an automatic point deduction.
I wouldn't support changing the rules on oblique/side kicks. MMA is dangerous and will always be dangerous. Attacking the knee is a legit tactic. MMA is pretty watered down already.

At the California State Athletic Commission meeting this morning Andy Foster claimed oblique/side kicks to the knee "are more dangerous than they're worth." He wants the state to address that, along with rules around eye pokes and prevalent peptide use among fighters.
