A while ago therapist wanted me to get screened for ASD. We did one test that didn't apply to me at all, & she was like maybe you're borderline/there're other tests, but didn't ask me to do any. After that she sometimes says autism explains some behaviors so now I'm v confused

@zemotion I have a theory that they are doing this intentionally because if everything gets labeled or mislabeled as AI, then nothing can be definitively shown to be AI-made, which raises the value of AI-generated content.

Honestly I suspect Meta doesn’t run actual detection on images cuz it’s expensive & they don’t care about any of us. But it will do a lot to be personally offensive to people, and make them believe that all detectors are not to be trusted.

But Meta’s implementation of this tag has made people not trust science & data. So IF the goal is to have chaos and desensitize people to think, "well I can't tell anyway, so AI or not if I like it it's fine I suppose. Whatever" etc - then I do think it helps with that goal.

I’m often annoyed by post-‘22 AI tourists but also think their existence interferes w frontier research priorities so it’s not all bad.
