At a lot of Chicago style shops, it’s just don’t hit your DD and how much PnL did you make. There’s very profitable teams out there which consistently have done very well for themselves and their firms without having infinite sharpes. I know extremely profitable desks (9 figs PnL) where they don’t check the Sharpe unless it’s a systematic strategy. It’s simply is the PnL positive every quarter.
