It amazes me how people are turning what looks like a really risky flight manoeuvre into a litmus test of : a) South African patriotism and/or b) racism. People, if white pilots did this in Britain they would be grounded. Are you saying Africans deserve less safety?

Slow this video down.
Plane 1 generated the same vortexes that you see Plane 2 generate from the smoke.
Those vortexes move downward. This is crucial.
If Plane 2 flew into Plane 1’s vortexes by just a few feet/meters, those supporters on the stands would have perished.

And if pilots from a European country or the US had flown that low without any casualties, they would be singing their praises. The narrative would be about their skill and talent, but because they’re African, because they’re South African, the west cannot simply give credit.
